House Bill 523, effective on September 8, 2016, legalized medical marijuana in Ohio. The Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program allows patients with certain medical conditions to obtain an Ohio Medical marijuana card and shop at an approved licensed medical marijuana dispensary in Ohio.
Do I Qualify for a Medical Marijuana Card in Ohio?
To qualify for Ohio’s medical marijuana program, you must have a qualifying medical condition and receive a recommendation from a physician who is authorized to recommend medical marijuana in Ohio.
Having a qualifying condition does not automatically guarantee approval. The physician must review your medical history, establish the required physician-patient relationship, and determine whether medical marijuana is appropriate for your condition.
Qualifying Conditions in Ohio
Ohio law currently recognizes the following qualifying conditions:
A condition caused by HIV that severely weakens the immune system.
A progressive neurological disease that affects memory, thinking, and daily functioning.
A progressive disease that damages nerve cells responsible for voluntary muscle movement.

A group of conditions that cause chronic inflammation in the digestive tract, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
A disease that affects the central nervous system and can cause problems with movement, sensation, and other functions.
Pain that is chronic, severe, or difficult to control and meets Ohio’s requirements for medical marijuana treatment.
A progressive neurological disorder that can affect movement and cause symptoms such as tremors and stiffness.
A person who has tested positive for HIV may qualify under Ohio’s medical marijuana program.
A mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event.

3. After your condition is confirmed, we will help you register through the State of Ohio using a valid Ohio DL, ID, or Passport.
4. You will receive an email from the State allowing for the activation of your medical marijuana card.
5. Your card is then downloaded from your email, and you can purchase medical marijuana from any dispensary in OH.
